Birthday Ball

I must admit, I LOATH “professional” blogs that lure you in with click-bait just so that they can try to sell you something that you don’t actually need (or maybe even want), or to support a cause that you don’t really care about one way or the other. However, that is exactly what you are going to find in this post. Hopefully not. I hope that you are actually eager to support this cause, but if not, reluctant support is still support right? Either way, I can not thank you enough for your support! So, what’s going on?

Well, as you know, I am in the military, in the reserves actually. Which means that we do not get the same funding for our birthday celebration as our active duty counterparts. This year, this November, my unit will hold our birthday ceremony in a football stadium’s ballroom which (as of right now) is going to cost $85 to $105 per ticket depending on your rank. This of course does not include drinks (not a big deal) or lodging (kind of a big deal).

To help with this cost we are fundraising through Yankee Candle. And that is where you come in! Wanna get a jump start on Christmas shopping or maybe just grab some smell good for your house? Why not show a little patriotic support while doing it!? Whether you choose to support us by making a purchase or just sharing this with someone who does (or both) every little bit really does help.

Please please PLEASE support my unit and share this with your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, local VFW/ American Legion buddies, acquaintances, and even that weird older lady who smells kinda funny that you occasionally run into who doesn’t know how to end a conversation.

Yankee Candle fundraisers go in seasons so any contribution that you make this fall will benefit my unit. However, any contributions made in the latter half (after October) will be put towards next year’s ball as we will not receive those funds until after our ball in November. So please, the earlier the better. Again, thank you so much for your support. Oh, and of course I’ll post some pictures here afterwards for you guys!
