Liebster Award

Let me start with the rules…

1- Thank the person who nominated you, and put a link to their blog on your blog.

2- Display the award on your blog.

3- Write a 150-300 word post about your favorite blog that is not your own. Explain why you like the blog, provide links.

4- Provide 10 random facts about yourself (optional).

6- Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 200 followers.

7- List these rules in your post (You can copy and paste from here or simply link to the official rules page).

8- Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link.

The person that nominated me for this award is (drum-roll please) Tesha! Thank you so very much for this. I have recently joined a bloggers’ group on Facebook where Tesha and I met. Her blog is one of the better ones that I have come across on there, and from what I’ve seen in the little time that we’ve known each other Tesha seems to be a great/genuine person… It might also help that her husband is in the military, just saying.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are the questions that she chose for me:
For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
I’m going to be cliche here and say my family, I wouldn’t be me without them. Literally, one of my family members actually gave birth to me. Crazy, I know… My friends are a close (VERY close) second.
What is your favorite meal?
I actually answered this before in All Of Me, but I won’t force you to go there to find out. It’s sushi… You should still visit that post though, It’s a good one. And since I included that link, I’m going to go ahead and skip the optional fourth rule. If you are looking for random facts about me that post is full of them. Also, I put ten random facts on my previous award.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?
Oh this is tough. I really would like to do some traveling. And I have a list of places in mind, but none of them really stand out more than the others. Wait, no, that’s a lie. I want to visit Antarctica the most. My biggest running goal is to one day be a part of The 7 Continents Club, I don’t care if I get there by running full or half marathons, but I want to do it so bad!
What is your favorite blog post? Why? (Include a link)
Oh this is easy, well, kinda. I am not too sure about my favorite overall blog, but this is my favorite blog post. I just recently discovered this blog, randomly, and this is the only post of his that I have read so far but… Well, see for yourself, this writing is amazing! Great concept. The entire time I was reading I kept thinking “I can’t believe that I haven’t come up with this idea before” and “this writing puts mine to shame, thank God I didn’t try this before”. And this question successfully took care of rule #3… I’m on a roll!
What makes you laugh?
People. In my last post I mentioned that my son and I love to people watch, people are just funny. I’m a psych nerd, I love figuring out how people think and why they think the way that they do. The funniest (and often most frustrating) thing about people (for me) is the way that we disagree. I love witnessing A well executed straw-man argument.
What is your weirdest quirk?
Just one? Um, I count, a lot. I’ll randomly switch between pairs and threes, but as I’m running, or driving, or even walking, I’ll count landmarks as they pass by….. In my head… To myself… Don’t judge me.
What made you start blogging? Where do you see yourself a year from now?
Actually, my one year blogiversary is coming up pretty soon, I started blogging because of the bucket list book that I randomly picked up last year during some post-Christmas shopping. A year from now, who knows? Maybe I’ll be upgrading my page to try and monetize it, maybe I’ll be wrapping up my book, I don’t know. Hopefully you are still interested in whatever it is that I am doing by then.
What would be your biggest piece of advice to fellow bloggers?
I write for personal gain, not monetary, and in that way I’ve been rather successful. So my advice would be for those not looking solely for monetary gain. Write about what you like, and be an active blogger. I mean pick a schedule and try to stick to it. I also mean (most importantly) interact with your fellow bloggers. Embrace the community. Don’t spam your blog on every group and forum post that you can find. Seek out like minded bloggers and develop a real relationship with them through your blog. Trust me. Oh, I have one more… When you’re nominated for an award and told to nominate others, name them. Don’t just use the general “whoever wants to do this can nominate themselves” thing. It’s hard to pick and choose… Do it.
What is your favorite song to dance to?
Seeing as how I only dance when I am either intoxicated or forced to by my date, I really don’t have a favorite song to dance to. One that has semi-specific dance moves that I actually know how to do is preferable.
What is the best vacation you have ever been on?
Hmm… Wasn’t really a “vacation” per-say, but my favorite trip was when my buddy Brad and I went to visit our friend Ben. I’m not going to go into too much detail here about it since (thinking about it now) it would make a great future blog post. Ben called me and left a voicemail on my phone where he was clearly upset. I told Brad, and within hours Brad and I were on our way to West Virginia for the weekend. Prior to this trip the three of us hadn’t been together for YEARS, and had barely spoken over that time either.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Hmm… Now I guess I need to come up with 10 questions for ya…..

1~ If you had to delete your entire blog but could keep just one post which one would it be and why? (If I have nominated you for an award before I apologize, this is my go to question, sorry for asking you to answer it more than once… Kinda)

2~ If you were to write a short (<25 words) note to your future self, say ten years from now, what one thing would you like to tell them.

3~ If you had to choose a different topic to blog about what would it be? (what else are you passionate about enough to write about?)

4~ What is your favorite blog to read? (freebie, stolen from rule #3, you’re welcome)

5~ If you were to host an event for the bloggers that you nominated for this award to meet in person what would you do? (be advised, I’m going to go ahead and invite myself)

6~ What other awards have you been nominated for? (post links)

7~ You’re a time traveler, where do you go? (I mean “when do you go”)

8~ What would you do if you won the lottery? (Say 1 million dollars)

9~ 6/2(1+2)+2=? (Hint, It’s my favorite number)

10~ Before this point, did you realize that the rules never actually asked you to make up 11 questions for your nominees, or to answer questions from the person who nominated you? (Gotcha! I didn’t realize it either haha It’s probably rule # 5, which is also missing… Relax, it’s in a different subsection on the official award site that I linked above)

11~ Who you gonna call? (By far the most important question that you will ever be asked)

~~~~~~~~~~~
And last, but certainly not least, my nominations!
1~ Amanda
2~ Bell
3~ Cass and Naomi
4~ Cle
5~ Granny… Yea, my Granny, the one from Naked And Afraid.
6~ Jad
7~ Julie
8~ Kenna
9~ Kye
10~ Renee
11~ Vix
~~~~~~~~~~~

Until next time, feel free to delete the parenthesis from the questions that I asked. Nobody else needs to be subjected to that amount of Alphonso Babble.

P.S. I know, I went out of order… I do what I want.

    1. It’s too cold for me too! I imagine that after I finally do it I’ll forget all about it, like when your brain blocks out traumatic experiences to shield you from the painful memory haha
