Guys. On July 30th I was nominated for my first blog award (whoop whoop)! Be jealous! Sorry, I should be a bit more humble than that… Nah, nanu nanu boo boo😝… Ok, ok, that’s enough. So, Cray, a friend that I made in a blog group on Kik, nominated me for The Unique Blogger Award. Immediately after you finish reading this you should scroll back up and check out Cray‘s blog and learn about her opinions on, well, pretty much everything. You won’t be disappointed. Ok, back to yours truly, and my award… The rules are as follows:
-Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
-Answer the questions.
-In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
-Ask them 3 questions.
My Answers:
1. What blogs do you enjoy reading?
This is going to seem like I am taking the easy way out but just bare with me. The blogs that I truly enjoy reading are the unique ones that I am actually nominating for this award. I’ll just cover a couple of them, you really should scroll down and give them all a read.
Michelle has a blog filled with her dating experiences, both good and bad. It’s interesting to me that her and I have had a lot of the same experiences even though we are opposite genders on opposite sides of the world.
IRunElite writes mostly about running. But that isn’t what interests me in her blog. It’s the support that she gets from her friends and family, and even other bloggers on here. When I first discovered her blog she was taking a break from running and posted about the things that her and her family were doing to keep her from getting too rungry (it’s a word… Or at least it should be).
Rebecca has a blog similar to my own. She writes about whatever random thought comes to mind, and I love it. She also does a good bit of erotica, and I love that too. It has always been something that I’ve been interesting in writing but I never really felt confident enough to do so. Reading her blog pushed me to try it (so if you don’t like it you can blame her).
Cray, the person who nominated me has a blog where she gives her opinion on practically everything. I’ve already commented earlier on how unique she and her blog are so it should be easy to tell why I enjoy reading her material.
Sara has is a blogger that I know in real life. Her and I went to school together and kind of lost touch after that. It’s been great catching up with her both on and off of WordPress.
Kai is another blogger that I met on KIK. She does some personal stuff and a good bit of reviews, and we are pretty like minded, I have to say that I have yet to find a review that I’ve disagreed with.
Cle has a book about her life on her blog. Even before I started blogging I had the desire to write a book. Reading this blog gave me the extra inspiration that I needed to set a plan into motion. She has lived an extremely interesting life, never a dull read.
2. Why did you start blogging?
I talked about this in my first ever blog post. I was doing some post-Christmas shopping and came across a bucket list book filled with a bunch of bucket list ideas. “Start a blog and keep it going for at least a year” was one of those ideas. I’ll hit one year in January, and honestly, I’m not planning on stopping after that. I love blogging.
3. What is your favorite memory?
I’ll tell you the memory that goes along with my favorite picture. My favorite picture is of me in the hospital with my son sleeping on my chest the day that he was born. It’s weird to say, and I might actually get shamed for this one, but I didn’t fall in love with my son when he was born. I watched the C-section from start to finish and I really didn’t even feel a deep connection to him when they placed him in my arms. It wasn’t until a few hours later, in that hospital room, when I was holding him. Having him cooing in my arms, that’s when I had the “he is mine and I love him more than I could ever love anything” moment. I didn’t actually become a Dad until two hours after I became a father.
My Nominees are:
1- Amanda
2- Anne
3- Cle
4- Giggles
5- Kai
6- Michelle
7- Midwest
8- Rebecca
9- Sara
10- Vinnieh
11- Whisper
My Questions for the blogger’s nominated:
1 – Out of the blog posts that you have published, which one is your favorite and why?
2 – What is a unique fact about yourself that you have not covered in your blog?
3 – What advice would you give to a new/future Blogger?
Until next time, tell them that Alphonso sent you.
P.S. Did I mention that this is my first award!?
You’re the best. This was a really nice surprise in my email today. Thank you so much. ❤

Thanks for the nomination and congrats on the award. I’m surprised this is your first, your blog is fantastic. That memory you shared is a really special one.

Thanks! Coincidentally I was nominated for another award a day or two after this one haha maybe there’s more to come, who knows.

These blogger awards are keeping us busy! So, do you like the kik groups? I am about done with the facebook blog groups.
LikeLike
Haha well… I’m only in one group on kik. I think I’ve tried about 5 or 6 different groups and ALL of the other ones were dead, no-one talked. I was actually just considering becoming more active on facebook and looking for some blog groups on there.

I will let you know if I find a good one. In some of the groups, everyone is just about growing their own following/traffic etc. There are a couple of others that I may give more of a chance. So far the wordpress connections are the best I have found.

Same. Even the one kik group that I’m in it seems like everyone is there solely to grow their brand. And oddly enough there are also a couple “bloggers” on their with blog based businesses that are constantly soliciting the newcomers. Maybe blog groups in general aren’t as cool as we initially thought?

Not “everyone” is there for selfish reasons, but you get my point
