“In #Bloglife I told you that I would do a follow up to About Who?, and I am NOT a liar. So, here it is! I recently found a Q&A blog post by Fattymccupcakes, which I later found out derived from a post originally done by StomperDad (I’m still looking for the original post on his page, I’ll put it here when I find it… If you come across it please let me know!), and I stole the questions from it. Yup. The post was good, I got jealous, and I copied it (I’m joking, I asked… Calm down), the things I do for my readers!” There’s an excert from when I started this. And here we are. We have arrived at the final update. So I figured that I should end this series by including the entire list. The final pieces to this puzzle are #4, #9, #14, #19, #24, and #25. Enjoy!
1. Who are you named after?
I was born Alphonso Francis II, after my biological father. I really don’t know or care where he got it from. He and my mother divorced and my mother started using her maiden name (White) as my last name. When I went to enlist in the Marines they asked for my school records and my birth certificate. The school records that I had all had different variations of my name. There was Alphonso white, Alphonso Francis II, Alphonso Francis, and Alphonso White II. When I went to get my birth certificate I found out that my name had never legally been changed so I changed it there on the spot to Alphonso Francis White which in turn validated my school records and proved that I actually was who I said I was… So… I am named after… My self?
2. Do you like your handwriting?
Nope, not at all. Look at some of the images that have my handwriting in them, you’ll see. It’s bad!
3. What is your favorite lunch meat?
Labia (c’mon, that was a good one… No?). Sorry. I don’t really have a favorite… Ham, I guess? I don’t know. Whenever I make myself a sandwich (which is a rarity) I just pile different meats on until it looks big enough to give me lockjaw. I will go ahead and say that I’m not a big cheese guy but my favorite is muenster, or pepper jack, nah definitely muenster, I put that stuff on everything.
4. Longest relationship?
5-ish years. It was legitimately love at first sight, awkward I know, but true. I’m pretty sure she’s the closest thing to “the one that got away” if you believe in that sort of thing. Fortunately/unfortunately I do not believe in that. As much as I would love to find my “one true love”, I believe that there are many matches for each person. You could even have a good-ish relationship with someone who isn’t a match if you want it bad enough. She was a great match, and I still consider her a good friend, but it just didn’t work out for us.
5. Do you still have your tonsils?
When I was little, my younger sister got her tonsils removed. She had strep throat / sore throat a couple of times so they removed them. It seemed so unnatural to me. Instead of fixing the problem doctors are just like “screw it, lets just cut these bad boys out”? I tricked myself into developing a real fear of getting mine taken away. Yes, I meant for it to out that harsh, their (did I really originally write “their” instead of “they’re”? This must have been an auto-correct typo… Even worse is the fact that I chose to comment on it instead of fix it. Oh well) my tonsils and I want them now (877 – TONS – ILS)… And um, forever, So, I stiffled my coughs and downplayed any sore throat that I got after that to make sure that I didn’t have to go to a doctor. Wow, that was long. Short answer: Yes, I still have my tonsils. And no, you aren’t getting them!
6. Would you bungee jump?
Nope, next question.
7. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Um… My running shoes? Yes. Dress shoes? Yes. Everything else? Nope. Do people really do this? Am I weird for not doing it?
8. Favorite ice cream?
Either Cookies N Cream or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough… I wonder what they taste like together, hmm… Mmmm. I bet it’s good… Like… Mind blowingly good… Challenge accepted!
9. What is the first thing you notice about people?
Their posture… I guess it’s not really their posture so much as it is just their overall body language in general… Is that weird?
10. Football or baseball?
E – A – G – L – E – S EAGLES! I try to make it to at least one game a year.
11. What color pants are you wearing?
Grey. I’m am wearing the running pants that I recently bought for a race that I did back in January. It’s a 10 miler, but due to the snow that we got in the days leading up to the race they changed the course and took out some of the back-roads which shortened it down to 5.5. I tried to make up for it by running 4.5 before the race but after 3 miles I lost interest (and feeling in most of my nimbly bits). It was around 13 degrees (“feels like” temp was (I think) -3) at the start of the race if I remember correctly. Total, I ran 8.8 miles, I still got that 10 mile medal though (not entirely sure how I feel about it).
12. Last thing you ate?
Ok, so, I wrote, erased, and rewrote an answer to this three or four times over. Ah the pervert in me wants to come out SO bad right now (the immaturity is strong with this one), down Gaston! Food… Think Food… Uh, Chinese. Final answer.
13. If you were a crayon what color would you be?
Slate I guess? It’s a shade of grey, grey is a pretty good color for me. I’m generally not too flashy but I do like to show off on occasion. Usually I’m either wearing a shirt that I got from a race or I’m wearing something with either a small logo or no design on it at all. On rare occasions I might get dressed up (like the outfit that you see in More About Me?), I keep it classy. So slate is the perfect “I want to be formal but I’m here to party too” color. I need a slate suit.
14. Favorite smell?
Um, this is a little tricky. I have a couple of favorites, but I can only take them in small doses. For instance, I love the smell of a good camp fire, I’d even be ok with having that scent in my house, but when it lasts for too long I get annoyed. Like, have you ever been to a bonfire and then smelt your clothes after you left? That’s what I mean. The smell I currently have in my house is Hawaiian breeze (if you haven’t tried it yet, you NEED to). Oh, it just came to me! My favorite smell is food. Oh man, so good. Remember the last time that you woke up and could smell breakfast being cooked for you? Or the last time that you walked into your house to a meal being made. The feeling that gives me can be matched by no other smell.
15. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
My mom. We talk semi-often, probably once or twice a week, for an hour or so.
16. Hair color?
Black, I keep it short though (in my Day-Day voice).
17. Eye color?
Brown. I have a tiny freckle or something (I think it’s called a nevus) in one of my eyes, it is also brown, and looks like a stain… I call that one “the poop eye”. And no one finds it as amusing as I do.
18. Favorite foods to eat?
Sushi. I don’t even know what I’m eating half of the time I just know that it’s good. No spicy mayo though, that stuff is the Devil! Steak is a very VERY close second. I take my steaks rare or medium rare depending on my mood (mmm blood!)
19. Scary movies or happy endings?
Scary movies, definitely. And I’m really glad that these two things are separate. I firmly believe that the best kind of scary movies/books are the ones without a happy ending. Or at least the ones that seem to have a happy ending but the characters don’t realize that they did not actually defeat the villain. It’s “scary”, it should leave a lasting feeling of uneasiness in you.
20. Last movie you watched?
At home? Sausage Party… HILARIOUS! If you haven’t seen it, and you enjoy off color humor, you need to go see it. Like, not “now”, but “right now”.
In theatres? Get Out. O to the M and G! This thing was crazy. I really didn’t believe the hype at first. And even while I was watching it, I didn’t think that it would be something that I would have to watch again, until the turn at the end. I must own this movie. I went to see a 12 O’clock showing of it by myself one random night. I don’t really feed into the whole concept that race is this thing that we constantly have to dwell on and throw in each others face but I will say, I’ve never been more afraid of and aware of my “blackness” than I was that night as I left the movies. I want to pack a bag and vacation in Jordan Peele’s mind… A short vacation… Ok, maybe an extended weekend.
21. Favorite holiday?
Thanksgiving, for three reasons. 1 – Nothing beats Thanksgiving dinner with my dad’s side of the family. There’s jokes, football, jokes about football, someone stealing and consequently being kicked out of someone else’s seat, and the never ending prayer that you think is about to end and then you hear “also, we just want to thank you for blah blah”. 2 – I’m a fat kid at heart. I EAT. And nothing beats Thanksgiving leftovers, well, nothing aside from the first thing that I said “nothing beats”. 3 – Football. Um… Nuff said?
22. Beer or wine?
Beer… Wine gives me crazy headaches, it’s bad. I would go far enough to say that even a strong sniff of wine would probably start a head throb. however, as we speak I have my first batch of Mead fermenting in my kitchen cabinet, so we shall see how that one works out for me.
23. Night owl or early bird?
Is it cheating if I say both? It really depends, I go through phases I guess. And my work schedule is a little crazy which really kind of makes me neither at times. I need to get back on schedule. When I’m running, I mean really running, on a regular basis, I’m an early bird. I get to bed early, and usually am eager to go running when I wake up, even if it’s only for a couple of miles around my neighborhood… That’s my new goal for this week, I gotta get back on track…. With running… Not on an actual track though… Ah you get it, I think.
24. Favorite day of the week?
Saturday. I guess for obvious reasons, I have off on Saturdays and so do most of my friends and family so it’s easy to plan get togethers and outings. Plus, it’s race day… Usually.
24 1/2: Which three of your favorite bloggers do you want to know more about?
Oh this one is hard… Um.. Well, my grandmom just started a blog. Please stop by and give her some love. And if you want to include some blogger pointers I’m sure she would greatly appreciate that as well. Arousal Imagined‘s short stories are amazing and she is working on an amazing novel that I just started reading. Little weird placing her right after my grandmom, eh, they’ll understand. And GigglingFattie post random musings from a 20 something year olds mind. I love seeing another blogger let their mind wander in their blog, posting whatever they feel like. You should all check these guys out. Oh, and I almost forgot my shameless plug… Not a blog, but my cousin and his friends have started a podcast on “Love”. I believe they’re 25 episodes in. It’s four guys discussing single life as well as relationships, they have a pretty good dynamic going. Please stop over there and show them some love as well.
25. Who were the latest three people to follow your blog (link to their about page)?
Until next time, feed me!
P.S. The “one that got away” made this meal for me one Veteran’s Day, she made the cup for me for one of the first sorority parties that she invited me to. If you know me outside of this blog you know how much I love OJ (the drink). I woke up to the smell of her cooking. She met me at the door and told me not to come out yet so I grabbed a shower then proceeded to eat this meal while watching the newest season or my favorite show, Supernatural. And I didn’t even have to use my AK.
