Day 3

Your Favorite Quote

I TOLD you that you were going to be disappointed. You didn’t want to believe me. If you’re looking at this and thinking “where’s the Day 2 post with the 20 facts”, I gotcha! Go back to Day 1, click on the link about my name, and read it. Theres your 20 facts, plus 5 more for you greedy goobers.

Moving on, we’re on Day 3 (stop living in the past), and today’s topic is my favorite quote. If you’ve been following my blog, or are the slightest bit observant, you would most likely guess that my favorite quote is “don’t talk about it, be about it”… And you would be wrong. Honest mistake, don’t beat yourself up. My favorite quote is actually “What we do in life echoes in eternity” from Gladiator. I can’t even begin to describe how hard it hit me when I first heard it.

I love that concept, of your actions being remembered (and judged) long after you’re gone. At one point I planned to get that quote tattooed on my bicep, HAF ended up going there instead. I may or may not get it somewhere else later, we’ll see.

If you are lucky enough to find yourself in a history book you’ve most likely done something right. But it doesn’t have to be that extreme. The stories that your friends and family tell about you after you pass is a clear sign that you’ve left your mark.

Now, think for a moment. What will they say? What would you want them to say? And most importantly, what are you doing today to mold the story that will be told tomorrow?

Until next time, echo.

P.S. Yes, this is a great movie, however, every time I hear someone bring up “the movie Gladiator” I think of the OTHER movie named Gladiator. I know, I just blew your mind didn’t I? Yep, there’s another one, an older one, and it’s good! COMPLETELY different premise and genre, but still a great movie. Here, check out the trailer.
