Seriously… There is not a player in any sport that influenced my view of sports in general more than AI. He’s what made me love basketball, and unfortunately he’s also the reason that I don’t watch basketball anymore. Not a knock on AI. He truly is amazing, and I wish I could still watch him play. But he also opened my eyes to how fragile NBA teams really are.
We had season tickets for a while, which was amazing… Except for any and EVERY night that AI wasn’t playing. Any team sport where almost every team is only worth something when their star player is active is not a “team sport”. But STILL, I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this man was (and probably still is) on the court.
Until next time, we talkin’ ’bout practice?
