I don’t blame you if you don’t read this entire post. That’s a lie, you need to read every single word. As a matter of fact, don’t read this right now. Come back later when you have adequate time to carefully read and fully appreciate my awesomeness. Take a seat. Take it in. Click the links (you’re welcome). Let it marinade. And then go to my comments and stroke my obviously inflated ego.
Long story short, I’m in a fantasy football with some of my buddies and I’m doing pretty well this year, for once. So, here are the regular season highlights from my weekly recaps…
WEEK 1 RECAP: The People’s Champ Steals Win from Gravey train
(Starting off with a bang baby) The People’s Champ was clutch under the lights of prime time on Sunday and Monday Night Football to get the comeback win over Gravey train 61.44 to 53.44. The People’s Champ was led by Aaron Rodgers. Next week, The People’s Champ takes on Naked shower time (0-1, 368.36), while Gravey train faces Donkey Punchers (1-0, 316.90).
WEEK 2 RECAP: Naked shower time Drops the Hammer on The People’s Champ, Takes Revenge
(Got a little too cocky) A rally in prime time on Sunday Night Football (36.52 points, 56% of their total score) wasn’t good enough for The People’s Champ, as Naked shower time easily earned the 101.64 to 64.92 victory. The 101.64 points represented the top overall total in the league this week. Naked shower time (1-1, 152.68 points) shifts into third place, while The People’s Champ (1-1, 126.36 points) goes to seventh place. Naked shower time takes on Blacklighting (1-1, 272.08) in Week 3, while The People’s Champ battles Donkey Punchers (1-1, 316.90).
WEEK 3 RECAP: The People’s Champ Pulverizes Donkey Punchers, Rises to 5th Place
(This one hurt… Him, not me) The People’s Champ picked up 24.82 points from Aaron Rodgers (313 Pas Yds, 3 TD/1 Int) and 15.40 from Ezekiel Elliott (80 Rsh Yds, 1 TD) to shred Donkey Punchers 85.02 to 27.68. The People’s Champ took an 11.60-point lead on Sunday afternoon and never looked back. Donkey Punchers still cannot beat The People’s Champ, who extended their career unbeaten streak to two games in the series. The People’s Champ (2-1, 211.38 points) climbs into fifth place and Donkey Punchers (1-2, 165.40 points) drops to 11th place. To go along with the fantasy victory, The People’s Champ was keen enough to select winners in real football, as well. Each of their starters suited up for an NFL team that won in Week 3. Next week, The People’s Champ plays Blacklighting (1-2, 232.66), while Donkey Punchers gets Graven ’em (1-2, 284.66).
WEEK 4 RECAP: The People’s Champ Squashes Blacklighting to Move into 4th Place
(Taking down the reigning Champ)The People’s Champ dismantled Blacklighting 91.16 to 60.58 while putting up the highest point total in the league this week. This beating was revenge for a loss to Blacklighting in their last meeting a season ago. On top of the loss, Blacklighting had two starters score zero points (Marcedes Lewis and Cody Parkey). The People’s Champ (3-1, 302.54 points) climbs into fourth place and Blacklighting (1-3, 232.66 points) drops to 11th place. To go along with the fantasy victory, The People’s Champ was savvy enough to choose winners in real life, as well. Among all of their starters, Ezekiel Elliott was the only one whose NFL team lost in Week 4. Next week, The People’s Champ squares off against Graven ’em (2-2, 284.66), while Blacklighting gets Kordell Stewart (1-3, 237.30).
WEEK 5 RECAP: Graven ’em Tops The People’s Champ, Tacks On 3rd Straight Win
(She got me) A.J. Green racked up 189 yards (22.90 points) and the Seattle Seahawks DEF added 16.00 points as Graven ’em defeated The People’s Champ 76.92 to 66.94. Graven ’em (3-2, 361.58 points) climbs into third place and The People’s Champ (3-2, 369.48 points) drops to sixth place. Next week, Graven ’em matches up against first-place Cucamonga Cracker Killers (4-1, 392.68). The People’s Champ squares off against Kordell Stewart (1-4, 268.40), who sits in last place.
WEEK 6 RECAP: The People’s Champ Gets Victory Against Kordell Stewart to Capture 3rd Place
(Lost to this guy in the playoffs last year, taste it) Mark Ingram scored two touchdowns (25.00 points) and Zach Ertz scored two touchdowns (13.80 points) as The People’s Champ beat Kordell Stewart 54.52 to 47.60. This win was revenge for a loss to Kordell Stewart in their last meeting a season ago. Things could have been different had Kordell Stewart not had two starters score zero points (Dan Bailey and Andrew Luck). The People’s Champ (4-2, 424.00 points) climbs into third place and Kordell Stewart (1-5, 316.00 points) stays mired in the cellar. One slot where Kordell Stewart wishes they could get a re-do is WR. Larry Fitzgerald could have started in place of Terrelle Pryor, and that point difference would have been enough to earn the win. In Week 7, The People’s Champ will meet top-ranked Cucamonga Cracker Killers (5-1, 474.14). Kordell Stewart squares off against call me knight hawk (5-1, 548.96), who has averaged a league-leading 91.49 points this season.
WEEK 7 RECAP: The People’s Champ Gets Win Against Cucamonga Cracker Killers, Takes Top Spot in League
(He and I are tied for first place in trash talking, but I backed it up) In a shootout between the two highest-scoring teams of the week, The People’s Champ took down Cucamonga Cracker Killers 107.02 to 87.56. This is the most a team has scored this season without getting a victory. Cucamonga Cracker Killers falls to 2nd (5-2) in the standings. The People’s Champ (5-2) is in first place, averaging 75.86 points per game. The scoring output from The People’s Champ was tough to predict given that they were only projected to score 79.67 points. Next week, The People’s Champ faces call me knight hawk (5-2, 588.94), who puts up a league-leading 84.13 points per game. Cucamonga Cracker Killers gets Big Red Machine (4-3, 483.96).
WEEK 8 RECAP: The People’s Champ Picks Up Win Against call me knight hawk for 3rd Straight Win
(Dude didn’t even use capital letters when naming his team) A rally on Monday Night Football (46.10 points, 71% of their total score) wasn’t enough for call me knight hawk, as The People’s Champ got the 91.10 to 65.02 victory. The People’s Champ (6-2, 622.12 points) remains in first place, while call me knight hawk (5-3, 653.96 points) stays in third place. In addition to the fantasy victory, The People’s Champ was keen enough to select winners in real-life football, as well. Each start played on a winning NFL team in Week 8. Next week, The People’s Champ squares off against Big Red Machine (4-4, 566.34), while call me knight hawk gets Taco Corp (3-5, 451.70).
WEEK 9 RECAP: The People’s Champ Gets Victory Against Big Red Machine, Tacks On 4th Consecutive Win
(He almost beat me, almost) The People’s Champ got the second-highest point total in the league this week to beat Big Red Machine 68.60 to 64.64. A late push on Monday Night Football (22.44 MNF points, 35% of their total score) wasn’t enough for Big Red Machine. This win was revenge for a loss to Big Red Machine in their last meeting a season ago. Both sides missed scoring opportunities as The People’s Champ had one starter turn in zero points and Big Red Machine also had one. The People’s Champ (7-2, 690.72 points) remains in first place and Big Red Machine (4-5, 630.98 points) stays in seventh place. If the Steelers Defense (9.00 points per game this season) had played and maintained their average, The People’s Champ would have been beaten by 0.04 points. Next week, The People’s Champ plays Taco Corp (3-6, 513.82), while Big Red Machine faces Turn Down 4 WATT (4-5, 540.62).
WEEK 10 RECAP: The People’s Champ Wins Against Taco Corp for 5th in a Row
(One, two, three, four…) The People’s Champ got the second-highest player points this week from Mark Ingram with 31.10 points (131 Rsh Yds, 3 TD) to take down Taco Corp 73.04 to 66.46. The People’s Champ has won their last five matchups. The People’s Champ (8-2, 763.76 points) remains in first place and Taco Corp (3-7, 580.28 points) stays in 10th place. The People’s Champ takes on Turn Down 4 WATT (4-6, 592.50) in Week 11, while Taco Corp faces Gravey train (5-5, 722.06).
WEEK 11 RECAP: The People’s Champ Wins Against Turn Down 4 WATT for 6th Straight Win
(All those points, for no reason)This week’s two highest-scoring teams met in an epic battle as The People’s Champ took down Turn Down 4 WATT 100.30 to 90.38. This is the most a team has scored this season without getting a victory. The loss drops Turn Down 4 WATT to 4-7 (9th place) and extends their losing streak to four. The People’s Champ (9-2) is in first place and has the highest points per game average at 78.55. With the win, The People’s Champ clinches a playoff berth this week. In addition to the fantasy W, The People’s Champ was keen enough to select winners in real football, as well. Each of their starters suited up for an NFL team that won this past week. Next week, The People’s Champ meets Gravey train (6-5, 794.44). Turn Down 4 WATT takes on Naked shower time (3-8, 638.68).
WEEK 12 RECAP: Powered by a Signature Performance from Julio Jones, Gravey train Blows Up The People’s Champ
(I do NOT take losses well) The production of Julio Jones made a decisive impact, as Gravey train overpowered The People’s Champ 94.22 to 58.02. With 94.22 points, Gravey train had the top total in the league this week. Gravey train (7-5, 888.66 points) climbs into fifth place. The People’s Champ, despite the loss, clinches a playoff spot this week (first place, 9-3, 922.08 points). In addition to the fantasy victory, Gravey train was savvy enough to pick winners in real-life football, too. The Detroit Lions DEF is the only starter that wasn’t part of a winning effort in Week 12. Gravey train will meet Donkey Punchers (6-6, 751.00) next week. The People’s Champ takes on Naked shower time (3-9, 691.52).
WEEK 13 RECAP: The People’s Champ Gets Win over Naked shower time to Even Season Series
(Back on top) The People’s Champ picked up 18.20 points from Mark Ingram (85 Rsh Yds, 37 Rec Yds, 1 TD) and 13.00 from Michael Thomas (70 Rec Yds, 1 TD) to get the win over Naked shower time 58.60 to 51.66. This win was revenge for a loss to Naked shower time in their last meeting a season ago. The People’s Champ (10-3, 980.68 points) remains in first place and Naked shower time (3-10, 743.18 points) stays in 11th place. The People’s Champ is playoff-bound next week.

This week (week 14) is the first week of our playoffs, and I’ve got a first round bye!
~
Until next time, wish me luck in the playoffs!
P.S. This is the first draft that we had for our fantasy football league, back in 2010… Or at least I think it was 2010. The hotel let us use one of their conference rooms, for free, and apologized for not being able to give us the bigger/newly renovated one. We were planning to hold the draft in one of our rooms… I’m pretty sure that I was one of only two teams that didn’t make the playoffs that year.
As much as I would like to stroke your ego with some riveting commentary I have to honestly state for the record that I did not read your entire post, the moment I read the words “fantasy football” the remainder of your post sounded like blah blah blah to my brain until my brain could not take another blah and exploded. SO SORRY, ya know I usually LOVE your posts but anything sports related and I just ZONE. I cannot help it, I am pretty sure it is built into my DNA…. I promise to read your next NON sports related post in its entirety!!!
