~This Ain’t Everything

Rocky IV –

Just like before, if you have yet to see this movie, the ones that proceed, or the ones that follow, turn around. Seriously! Go and watch them first. Ok? Ok. So, if you did not know before, this is my favorite movie. It is the climax of the entire series (thus far).

Dolph was a college student and amateur boxer coming in to film this movie (if you read that and thought “who’s Dolph” I must urge you (again) to watch the freaking movies!). When Apollo goes down, a medic on set went to check on him to see if he was ok because of how well he played the knockout… I mean, well for 80s filming standards. If the car montage in this movie doesn’t water your eyes you have no soul. It gets me EVERY TIME. Which, brings up a good point… At least 60% of this movie is a montage… How awesome is that!? Ok, it might not sound all that amazing, but trust me, it is! Paulie shows a bit of humanity in this movie, immediately followed by more self centered Paulie (You kinda have to take what you can get as far as Paulie is concerned).

No Name Given –

I’m not gonna lie to you, this movie blows. It almost (almost) killed the franchise. The only semi redeeming quality here is the one liner at the end of the movie… Like, the very end of the movie. I wish that I could tell you to skip this one, but I can’t. You have to watch it. You cannot fully appreciate the other movies in the series until you have suffered the agonizing ninety minutes of the movie that shall remain nameless.
