Top Ten Pet Peeves

Now this is a good one! I’ve seen others blog about this and I really couldn’t wait to get mine out there too. I’m even getting a little emotional. As I type this, I have the Festivus quote “I’ve got a lot of problems with you people, and now you’re going to hear about it” playing on repeat in my head right now. Let’s get right to it.

1- People who chew with their mouth open. I know, I’ve mentioned this before. You people need Jesus! Discipline that jaw.

2- Religious extremists. I don’t mean terrorist. Well, I dont mean just terrorists. The ones that throw their religion in your face, and the ones that find a way to drag religion into random conversation.

3- People that read blogs without leaving a like or comment. A like, it literally doesn’t even take an entire second to press the like button. Was it bad (if so, please tell me… Seriously)? Are you really that busy? Are you really that lazy?

4- Ppl dat typ lyke dis. Don’t. Just, don’t. I’m currently talking to a girl that can’t spell to save her life. She tries, but just can’t. And she doesn’t know the difference between”your” and “you’re”. She’s already starting out on thin ice.

5- You’re bad grammar. I get it, grammar is a bitch, an we can nitpick it to death if we really want to. But c’mon, its not all that hard. Theirs a difference between ignoring basic grammar rules and being ignorant. If you our among the former please refrain from talking too me… You see what I did there?

6- When people get too comfortable too fast. You know exactly what I mean. Don’t throw around off color jokes to a guy or girl whose name you can’t even remember.

7- Public polarizing conversations. There is a time and place for everything. Arguing about the upcoming election and/or the election results should be a private or at least a semi-private thing. And no, I do not want to join your conversation either.

8- People who short change handshakes. If I reach my hand out to shake yours and you grab a hold of just my fingers (especially during our first meeting) I instantly want to punch you in the face.

9- People with questionable morals. I get that this is subjective and vague… I’m going to go ahead and leave it that way.

10- People with no empathy. This kind of goes with #9, but it really needed to be said. Treat others how you would want to be treated. Take a second to think about how others feel. I mean really put yourself in their shoes. Try to see the world through their eyes. I find myself saying “I don’t agree with their actions, but I can see how it could make sense in their mind” pretty often. Give it a try.

11- People that write Top Ten lists that have more than 10 items listed.

12- People that can’t take a joke.

I’m sure that there are a TON of pet peeves that I have that should be in this list. But none of those came to mind when I was writing it. I’m sure that later when I reread this I’ll end up making a Part Deux.

Until next time, pet those peeves, pet them good and hard.

P.S. I wish that I had a collection of these mugs, it would be the only kind of cup in my house.
